KUFNEX (COUGH SYRUP)
DESCRIPTION
This combination medication is used to relieve coughs caused by the common cold, bronchitis, and other breathing illnesses. Guaifenesin belongs to a class of drugs known as expectorants. It works by thinning and loosening mucus in the airways, clearing congestion, and making breathing easier. Dextromethorphan belongs to a class of drugs known as cough suppressants.
DOSAGE
Adults and Adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 to 2 teaspoonfuls (5 mL to 10 mL). Children 6 to 12 years of age: ½ to 1 teaspoonful (2.5 mL to 5 mL). These doses may be given every 4 to 6 hours as needed. This product is not indicated for use in children under 6 years of age

Dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, and vomiting may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

KUFNEX is available in strips of ten capsules containing cough syrup.
