The capsule is particularly important as a lipid lowering, antioxidant, antiatherosclerotic neuroprotective and antihypertensive agent.

DOSAGE

QNEX has basically been formulated as a breakfast and dinner dose. Hence, take two capsules daily as a Dietary Supplement or as recommended by the Health Professional.

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY

QNEX is one of the finest formulations for the treatment of dietary deficiencies, cardiac problems and neurological disorders. Let us throw some light on the composition of this formulation!

Co-enzyme Q10:  Co-Q10 which is also known as Ubidecarenone has antioxidant activity in mitochondria and cellular membranes thus protecting against per oxidation of lipid membranes. It inhibits the oxidation of LDL-cholestrol. It also lowers the elevated blood pressure and protects against complications of various diseases. Co-Q10 also has neuroprotective, cytoprotective and cardioprotective activities.                                                                              

Omega-3-fatty acids: This comprises of Eicosapentaenoic(EPA) Acid and Docosahexaenoic Acid(DHA) which exhibit triglyceride-lowering property due to the inhibition of lipogenesis and stimulation of fatty acid oxidation .

EPA is metabolized to Leukotriene B5 and Thromboxane A3 that promote vasodilatation, inhibit platelet aggregation and leukocyte chemotaxis and are anti-artherogenic and anti-thrombotic.

DHA is the prominent structural fatty acid in the grey matter of the brain and retinal tissues. It also elevates the HDL cholesterol. It may have anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating activities.

Methylcobalamin: Mecobalamin plays an important role in transmethylation as a coenzyme of methione synthetase in synthesis of methione from homocysteine. It is well transported to nerve cell organelles, and promotes nuclectic acid and protein synthesis. Mecobalamin also promotes axonal regeneration. It even promotes myelination (phospholipid synthesis). Mecobalamin restores delayed synaptic transmission and diminished neuro-transmitters back to normal. It promotes the maturation and division of erythroblasts, thereby alleviating anemia.

Vitamin B1 blocks hyperglycemic damage and rules neuromuscular transmission.

Vitamin B2 is involved in oxidation-reduction reactions and prevents ariboflavinosis.

Niacinamide pellagra, dermatitis, dementia, etc.

Vitamin B6 prevents anemia, hydralazine, convulsions and neurological disturbances.

Vitamin C treats scurvy, postoperatively and anaemia

Zinc is synthesis of nucleic acids and metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates & lipids.

INDICATIONS

QNEX is indicated for the distinctive nutritional requirements of individuals under physician’s treatment for inadequate dietary intake, nutrient malabsorbtion, hyperhomocysteinemia, homocystinuria, etc. It is indicated in the treatment of primary and secondary prevention of stroke. It is highly recommended for patients with neurological disorders like neuropathy and renal disease.

CONTRA INDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the formulation.

SIDE EFFECTS

Adverse events reported are fishy after taste, gastrointestinal disturbances and prolonged bleeding time. No adverse effects besides have been reported.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Patients under the medication of warfarin, aspirin, low molecular heparins, clopidogrel or ticlopidine should consult their physician before taking omega-3 supplements due to a slight increase in the risk of bleeding.

OVER DOSAGE

There are limited reports of QNEX over dosage in the literature.
